Unilabs’ CEO Michiel Boehmer to step down

Geneva – 1 March 2023: Unilabs, a leading diagnostic services provider, announced today that, after ten years – initially as COO and from 2019 as the CEO – Michiel Boehmer has decided to step down from his position effective 31 March 2023.

“Following deep personal reflection, I made the decision that it was now the right time for me to step down. This has been an incredibly difficult decision as I leave behind a company I love and a talented team of 13,000 Uniheroes,” said Boehmer. “As Unilabs embarks on a new growth journey, I believe there needs to be a different leader at the helm. As CEO, I have personally been an integral part of building the future strategy and am confident it is the right ambition for the business, however, the time is now appropriate for someone else to lead the company through the next chapter.’’

With Boehmer moving on, Marc Engel – currently Chairman of the Board of Directors – will transition to the interim role of Executive Chairman from 1 April 2023, leading the company until a permanent CEO is recruited.

“I have personally enjoyed partnering with Michiel over the last months and applaud his deep knowledge and passion for Unilabs. On behalf of the Board, we are grateful for the leadership and exceptional service that Michiel has given to the company. He will be sorely missed,’’ said Engel.
