In 2009, Unilabs established a specialised hematopathology department.
Hematopathology diagnostics are generally performed in hospital laboratories. Unilabs is among the first private laboratories to offer a comprehensive range of tests in this field throughout Switzerland.
Due to the specific nature of the samples, particular attention must be paid to pre-analytical conditions. The shipment of blood smears, biopsies and blood samples requires appropriate handling measures.
We therefore recommend contacting Unilabs before sample collection to ensure optimal conditions for sample preparation, transport and analysis.

Onco-Hematology
The diagnostic process in onco-hematology relies on the combination of several specialised techniques, particularly flow cytometry and molecular biology.
Flow Cytometry
Our team follows expert recommendations for the analysis of different cell populations.
We use state-of-the-art flow cytometers that enable the simultaneous analysis of multiple parameters, including 10-colour systems.
Flow cytometry is an essential tool for characterising cell populations and contributes to the diagnosis of numerous hematological disorders.
Molecular Biology
Diagnostic, prognostic and classification analyses are performed in accordance with international recommendations, including those of the World Health Organization (WHO).
