Unilabs to open four dedicated Covid-19 test sites in Switzerland
Geneva, 27 October 2020: Unilabs, the leading European diagnostic services provider, is opening another four dedicated Covid-19 test facilities in Switzerland, increasing its Covid-19 PCR test capacity to around 15,000 a week.
“At the request of the local health authorities, we have transformed our Carouge facility to focus on testing patients for Covid-19, making sure to keep symptomatic and asymptomatic patients apart – and we are opening three new facilities in Geneva, Coppet and Lausanne to step up PCR testing across Switzerland,” said Alessandre Keller, General Manager of Unilabs Switzerland. “The key thing is to keep the facilities safe – this helps protect our patients, our people and of course the general public.”
To arrange a test at these new facilities, patients need to register on www.unilabs.ch and make an appointment. This prevents queues and thus minimises the opportunity for contact and transmission between individuals. In most cases, results will be available within 24 hours.
“Speed is everything in the fight against Covid-19, and these new facilities allow us to address the most urgent cases quickly and safely,” said Keller. “The Swiss authorities can rest assured that we are doing our utmost to confront this public health crisis.”
