Testing for large events, another milestone in the fight against Covid-19
Unilabs, the leading European diagnostics group, has partnered with Common MS and Inno@Brain in Spain to launch a digital solution that allows organisers to safely increase the number of attendees for large events.
“At Unilabs, we have been fighting Covid-19 since the start and now we are happy to support cultural activities and contribute to the safe return of normality,” said Rainiero Delgado, General Manager, Unilabs Spain. “This innovation, a pioneering initiative for Spain and the rest of Europe, marks another milestone in our digital roadmap.”
The initiative brings together the analytical, clinical, logistics and data processing capabilities of the three companies on a single technological platform. The aim is to protect the health and safety of all attendees – before, during and after the events.
Attendees provide their telephone number, name, surname, ID and email when purchasing a ticket. The platform then generates a barcode that is included in the ticket to allow the identification and access to the event through the event's app. Each ticket also has a number and a time slot to access the event.
On the day of the event, before the start, attendees need to take an antigen test carried out by Unilabs on site. Results are communicated within 15 minutes via the app. Attendees need to wait in a designated area until results are ready.
In case of a positive result, the protocol is activated: home isolation is recommended and the public health authorities are notified.
If the result comes back negative, attendees can access the venue. At the entrance, they receive a new mask and a bracelet equipped with Bluetooth technology. The device will anonymously and reliably record all contacts of less than 1.5 m distance.
Finally, if an attendee tests positive within 72 hours after the event, the platform identifies the contacts at risk and automatically notifies them.
